Sabbatical

I haven’t written here for some time. I’ve grown tired of blogging and writing only as an attempt to gain readers. You might say I’ve been on a Sabbatical from writing. That’s not exactly accurate. While I’ve not written much here I have been busy writing.

In the past year I’ve written about 100 songs, a few dozen poems, and a ton of short essays at www.danstevenerickson.com. I started another book. I’ve also moved from Washington State to Southern Maine. I’ve continued my work as a college instructor. I’ve been busy in work, life, and creativity. So why am I posting here now, after months away? Because I’m going on Sabbatical.

That’s right. This fall I’m taking an official Sabbatical from teaching to work on rewriting my childhood story of being the child victim of an extreme religious cult. The original book, A Train Called Forgiveness, was written about ten years ago as a fictional work based on reality. I’ll be rewriting the story as a memoir. I’ll be sharing the process and excerpts both here and on my website.

Check back for updates. — dse
